The world's most beautiful avenue in the world's most beautiful city! Stretching 2 kilometres from the Arc de Triomphe to the Obelisque on the Place de la Concorde, the Champs-Elysees is something every tourist to France must see.
Along with foreign visitors, the French and Parisians come from all over and need no invitation to visit the "Champs".
On the even numbered side of the street, there is a vast array of shops, most of which are open on Sunday (a rare thing in Paris). On the odd-numbered side (recommended for walking up the Champs-Elysees in peace and quiet), there are fewer boutiques, but imposing luxury brand names and a very good choice of restaurants.
At the Western end, the Arc de Triomphe rises towards the sky. Here you can observe this monumental avenue and the bustling crowd from the top.
In the evening, the area around the Champs-Elysees offers a wide choice of nightlife entertainment: classic (the Lido), prestigious (VIP Room, l'Étoile.), out of the ordinary (the Queen) even sexy (Hustler Club and Pink Paradise).
The most durable clubbers will enjoy a view of a virtually empty Champs-Elysees, at dawn, when Paris and her favourite avenue wakes up.
