On both sides of the Seine, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, immense and majestic palaces, impressive perspectives and former private mansions turned into ministries
The Invalides is without doubt one of Paris most beautiful building schemes. It includes the Hotel des Invalides, commissioned by Louis XIV as a home for disabled war veterans, the Eglise du Dome with Napoleon’s tomb and one of the richest army museums worldwide.
The Eiffel tower conceived by Gustave Eiffel on the occasion of the 1889 Universal International Exhibition, prone to controversy and admiration at the same time, and which has now become the symbol of Paris.
The new Quai Branly Museum devoted to primitive art, notably to African, Oceanic, Asian and American civilisations. The museum displays a fabulous collection of 300 000 objects, sculptures, fabrics, statues and jewels. A very special place with an unseen architecture, all about transparency and designed by Jean Nouvel.
Enjoy a drink in the Musee Rodin’s quiet sculpture garden after having seen the sculptures as well as the artist’s personal collection including over 7000 drawings and paintings, some by Monet, Van Gogh, etc.
