The Place de l'Etoile is formed by the intersection of twelve great avenues converging clockwise from the north in a star shape.

The Ternes is among the city's poshest areas together with the Plaine Monceau. The Monceau Park is one of Paris' most flowery parks. You will also find rare tree species, some of venerable age: sycamore tree, crimson maple, oriental plane (the park's oldest and largest tree). Do also note the decorative elements such as the naumachia water feature and the pyramid. It has many playing areas for the children living in this essentially residential quarter and its surroundings.

Housed in a magnificent Second Empire mansion, the Jacquemart-Andre Museum contains a remarkable collection worthy of the greatest museums. The Nissim de Camondo Museum features a gorgeous collection of XVIIIth century decorative art objects comprising furniture, paintings, carpets, tapestries, porcelain, gold and silver wares. It is a perfect showpiece for the exquisite luxury of the 18th century.

The Cernuschi Museum is situated at the entrance of the Monceau Park and its collections contain remarkable ancient Chinese art (pottery objects, jades, ivories, bronzes, statuettes), and nice contemporary paintings.
